PAROS - The Greek island of Paros
Paros island is the third biggest of the Cyclades after Andros and Naxos. Paros is situated in the middle of the Island group and covers of 209 square kilometers with coastline of 120km long. Paros Island is 96 miles Southeast from Athens which is the capital city of Greece. Excavated remains prove Paros to have been settled since Neolithic times but the island reached it's political and cultural peak during the classic period when it boasted a population of over 60,000. Today, the more modest populace of 12,000 inhabit the famous Cycladic "sugar-cube" houses sprinkled liberally over the hillsides and around the natural harbors formed by the 120km Paros coastline.
